Yes, our JBL Charge 4's battery LED indicator turns off after a few seconds the speaker is turned on to save the battery. The battery LED indicator lights up when you press any button on the speaker.

The USB port on our JBL Charge 4 serves as a power outlet since the unit can serve as a power bank to charge your devices. It doesn't support USB playback. For more information, check out page 1 of our Quick Start Guide here: http://bit.ly/2NenbpT

The JBL Charge 4's Bluetooth range is up to 10m or about 32ft. This could be less if your connection is experiencing interferences/interruptions. This is how to prevent that: 1.) Always have clear line of sight between your Bluetooth device (speaker, headphones etc). and source device (Smartphone/tablet/PC etc). Be aware of obstacles in front of your devices. 2.)Try to shutdown products that has Bluetooth but not being used. They are often the reason for interference even though they are not being used. 3.)Do not stand too close to our Wi-Fi router since a Wi-Fi signal is stronger and in many cases will "overlap" the connection. 4.)Be aware of walls around you. Concrete and brick walls will often interrupt the signal, as it cannot pass through such thick walls. 5.)Bluetooth signals cannot travel through water, which includes the human body. Make sure with Wireless Headphones to keep your Source device and the receiver on the same side of your body. 6.)Open space such as parks, or tracks can cause issue for your devices, as open air is "bad" for any Bluetooth signal if it cannot reflect from objects around you.
