Awesome
I've been testing this Boombox for just over a week now and wow. From when you starting unpacking the product, even the packaging is great quality. The Boombox has some weight to it, the easy guide setup I see quick. The Bluetooth connectivity is quick. I connect to my iPhone and the sound is so good. The bass first hits you I turned up the volume sat back closed my eyes it was as if I was at the concert only I was getting a personal performance. Even when the volume is turned down you can stillness hear every note. This more than surpassed my expectations as the sound quality is crystal clear. I'm looking forward to enjoying this product some more and I would highly recommend

Best money I have ever spent
I bought this five months ago and have been plateaued in every way possible. The floating/waterproof capability is very useful. The heavy duty battery lasts me an entire weekend. The most important and best part is the sound. The bass is low and POWERFUL and can turn a room into concert. I love using it outdoors because of how far the sound travels, but one thing JBL doesn’t mention is the range of the Bluetooth. It is almost a hundred yard connection, even when they are paired with my other JBL speakers. I got a Jeep recently and it currently has no sound system, so the boombox is more than enough bass and loudness. The instrument separation is superb and overall quality is unmatched

Amazing sound quality
I bought this 34 days ago and have loved it since I don't like getting it dirty but theres nothing JBL can do about that lol but it has enough power to shake some smaller things on your walls and put a thump in your chest if your in a bedroom sized room and sounds great the only thing I hate Is how easy it is to scratch and wish it had a backpack case thing but I wont complain everything has its ups and downs If they ever do make a JBL boombox 2 I will be buying it the day it comes out for sure so I can always have the biggest waterproof portable speaker on the market it is great and fills every need I have as i walk down the hallways of my school with tremendous bass filling the halways.

Amazing Sound - Versatile - GREAT battery!
I have had this boombox for a couple of months now and can honestly say that it is the best I have seen and heard, and the battery life is likely my favorite aspect, I have used this thing at work ,outside, in cool weather, at moderate volumes on and off for nearly two weeks, likely 24 hours of combined use on one charge!
The sound is great and can be loud as you will need...as a Heavy Equipment Technician, I use this in the cabinet of my service truck, and you can hear it easily around the biggest equipment out there without full volume.
Build quality is what one would expect from an HK company, you are getting what you pay for.
Buy it...love it!!!

Great sound for an outdoor theater.
I bought this for an outdoor theater so my family and friends could enjoy music and movies while social distancing outside. I had purchased a projector and a 120 inch screen to watch movies, YouTube, etc and wanted an easy way to provide great sound at a reasonable price. The JBL Boombox has been perfect! I bought a $39 3 shelf, wheeled tool cart from Harbor Freight that fits the projector, Smart Blu-ray player, HDMI audio extractor, and the JBL Boombox perfectly. Now I can just plug in the cart and play whatever video I want against the wall of my garage. I can also just bring out the JBL Boombox to listen to music via Bluetooth while having a cookout or get together.

So, if it the same power of Xtreme, whats the real difference between them? Cause, I thought that it was more than 40W rms.

I saw that the power is 40w but is that the combined power of each speaker driver or individual power? (for what i know theres 2 bass radiators and 4(?) other drivers)

My brand new JBL Boombox makes kind of parasite background noise when switching on/off. First I though about the firmware upgrade. Still running under version 2.0 so should I go to 2.2 (or latest) and could this be the problem ?
The box does have a sound indicating you are turning it on or turning it off when you press the power button. It's meant to be there as an audio confirmation that your are powering up or powering down the boom box,

Want to use it in classic truck, friend uses Bose soundlink and sounds good, Wish could hear the JBL boom box. Be honest, will it sound good in a cab of a truck? I don’t buy stuff and return it.
We get by on an extreme for a sound solution in our work truck. We tried the boom box too and has much more extended low end and plays even louder. The Extreme is easier to locate within the cab. Either one you can’t go wrong as long as you don’t listen at ear shattering levels. Much better than the notoriously bad sound of a work truck. 3 watts a channel on a good day with cheap leftover junk they couldn’t get away with putting into even the rental cars. Portable well engineered solutions in either model will a great choice if you really do not want to deal with installing a conventional stereo in your classic, probably irreplaceable truck.

Does it float?
Hi, yes the jbl boombox can float on water and if you sit it front side up in the water you will still be able to jam to your music.

How loud is Boombox compared to Extreme? What is the difference between JBL Connect and JBL Connect +?
it’s louder but not clearer. Bass is not as deep. I ordered one and returned it because I have 2 xtremes and paired they are louder and clearer
